Appleton Estate, near Black River, has been blending rums since 1749.

On this popular Rum Distillery Tour, your guide walks you through the fermentation and distillation process that turns ordinary sugar cane, molasses and sugar into wine and rum.

See how all of this was done in the olden days and how it is done today! You can participate in the process and squeeze your own cane juice. Add some ginger and WOW, it’s great!

If you are lucky, you will be able to see the cane cutting--they only harvest a few times a year! Don’t forget your camera. There are several historical artifacts on display (they make great photo opportunities).

After the tour you can taste all the rums in the air-conditioned lounge. Every guest receives a ‘free’ bottle of rum to take home.
